Spring Clean

Picture
As the weather starts to warm up and the flowers begin to bloom, many of us start thinking about spring cleaning our homes. But have you ever considered spring cleaning for your lifestyle? Spring is the perfect time to reset and refresh not just your living space, but also your body and mind. In this blog, we will explore the benefits of spring cleaning for your home, body, and mind.
Spring Cleaning for Your Home:
When you think of spring cleaning, the first thing that comes to mind is probably cleaning out your home. Spring is a great time to declutter your living space, deep clean your home, and organize your belongings. But why is this important?
Decluttering your home can have a positive impact on your mental health. A cluttered living space can lead to feelings of stress and anxiety, while a clean and organized space can promote relaxation and peace of mind. Additionally, deep cleaning your home can help improve the air quality in your home, reduce allergens, and prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria.
Spring Cleaning for Your Body:
Spring is also a great time to focus on your physical health. After a long winter of hibernating, many of us are ready to get outside and be more active. Spring cleaning your body can mean a variety of things, from trying a new exercise routine to doing a detox.
One way to cleanse your body in the spring is to focus on eating fresh, whole foods. The winter months often mean more comfort foods and less fresh produce, so spring is the perfect time to load up on fruits and vegetables. You can also try doing a juice cleanse or a smoothie detox to give your body a break from processed foods.
Spring Cleaning for Your Mind:
Finally, spring cleaning can also be beneficial for your mental health. After a long winter, many of us may be feeling a little down or uninspired. Spring is a great time to shake off those feelings and focus on mental wellbeing.
One way to do this is by practicing mindfulness. This can mean taking up meditation, practicing gratitude, or simply taking a few moments each day to focus on your breath and clear your mind. You can also try journaling or creative writing to help process your thoughts and feelings.
Overall, spring cleaning your lifestyle can have a positive impact on your overall health and wellbeing. By decluttering your home, cleansing your body, and refreshing your mind, you can start the season feeling refreshed and renewed. So, take some time this spring to focus on yourself and your health. You deserve it!

5 Holistic Tips to Manage Holiday Stress + Anxiety

Picture
It's the most wonderful time of the year... or is it? Although this is a beautiful season it's also known to be one of the hardest times of the year. It can be difficult for those of us who struggle with Anxiety, Stress, Health Issues and so much more. That is why we want to support you by sharing Our 5 Tips to manage Stress & Anxiety.

Tip #1:
Healing your Gut can help manage stress and anxiety. Many of our clients have expressed an immediate decrease in anxiety after a colonic cleanse. Your Gut and Brain are directly connected and Good Digestive health is connected to Mental Health. Try monthly colonics to help manage Stress and Anxiety disorder naturally. Schedule a Colonic

Tip #2:
Healing Trauma can be extremely effective in helping to manage physical and energetic stress load. Often times anxiety is a result of repressed trauma in the body. Trauma Healing and Coaching has been highly successful for our clients in managing anxiety. Try a 1:1 Trauma Healing Session with our gifted Energy Healers. Schedule a 1:1

Tip #3:
During this time of the year boundaries are essential. Family guilt and holiday guilt is real but it is vital to remember when you say no to others you are actually saying YES to yourself.  Save yourself some stress by clearly and directly relaying your intentions and boundaries around what you will attend and what boundaries you will enforce. Don't over promise and don't over extend. Remember CLEAR is kind and UNCLEAR is unkind.

Tip #4:
Minerals and Vitamins play an important role in our stress and anxiety levels. Being deficient in certain minerals and vitamins can affect the biochemical balance in your brain, resulting in anxiety or increasing the levels you're currently experiencing. The best minerals for stress management are magnesium, vitamin D, B vitamins, zinc, calcium and iron. You can get a mineral panel to find out what minerals you may be deficient in or just try supplementing with some practitioner grade minerals. Heres our favorites.

Tip #5:
Energy Healing and Chakra Balancing promotes deep relaxation and reduces anxiety and stress. Guided meditations and visualizations are very soothing for quieting the mind and calming the spirit when you are feeling uneasy and stressed. Spiritual work and energy healing like reiki can be extremely helpful in supporting mental, emotional, spiritual, energetic, and even physical wellness. Try a 1:1 Energy Healing sessions with one of our gifted healers. Schedule Now!

Colon Hydro Therapy Fact 0r Fiction

Let’s debunk some common myths and fabrications made by naysayers about Colon Hydro Therapy AKA Colonics so you can understand why you shouldn’t fear such a valuable, effective and life changing treatment.

Let’s start by stating why I AM QUALIFIED to make the following statements in support of this treatment, colon health, & digestive track. I encourage you to ask naysayers what there qualifications are as well. As we are inundated with miss shared information in our culture.

FACTS about me:
1. I was trained and certified in Internal Cleansing, Colon Hydro Therapy and the Lymphatic System.
2. I have been continuing my education and working in the wellness field for almost 17 years and have worked with over 20k people professionally.
3. I interned with the Mother of Industry and author of first book ever written on internal cleansing Millan Chessman, as well as Internationally proclaimed Trainer and Board Member Roxanne Watson.
4. I’m partnered with the #1 School Internationally for Internal Cleansing and Lymphatic Drainage training the most qualified Therapists world wide.
5. I am third generation and have seen these treatments changing peoples live since the ripe old age of FIVE YEARS OLD!

Myth # 1: Your colon will no longer work on its own if you do Colonics!
FICTION: This is just anatomically incorrect. The Colon is a muscle and introduction of water naturally encourages peristalsis (the flexing of the muscle) which in turn strengthens the muscle. Saying your colon won’t work on it’s own if you do colonics would be like saying lifting weights will atrophy your muscles. It’s just incorrect.

Myth #2: You can become addicted to Colonics!
FACT: Are you addicted to feeling your best? Are you addicted to eating healthy and your healthy lifestyle? Are you addicted to going to the gym or yoga? You WILL feel amazing after doing Colon Hydro Therapy and you will always want to maintain that feeling by continuing doing them. A monthly maintenance plan will keep you feeling your best as well as help prevent Illness and Disease! So if this is their definition of “addicted” then me and my clients will have to admit.....we’re addicts!

Myth #3: Colonics will get rid of all the GOOD Bacteria in your colon!
Inconclusive: All the research studies done on this topic have remained inconclusive. Not only can we not quantify if/how much good bacteria is lost during a colonic we cannot even quantify how much good bacteria is required for proper digestive health, which is unfortunate. That being said, within the colon lies the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and in my professional opinion the benefit of getting rid of the BAD and the UGLY outweighs any threat of releasing "possibly" some of the GOOD. So after your colonic do one of the following: take a probiotic to increase the healthy flora in the gut regularly, get a prescription for a probiotic additive at the end of your colonic if possible, and drink/eat vegetables and probiotic dense foods to relieve any concern you may have on the topic. These 3 easy fixes seem like much more reasonable options then just ignoring the root of the problem altogether.

Myth #4: Getting a Colonic can rupture the colon!
FICTION: I cannot state enough how fictional and fear mongering this statement is and although I hate fear mongering I must state the truth. There are many more cases of complications caused by colonoscopies reported then EVER reported regarding Colon Hydro Therapy. In Fact, we have never had ONE verified or reported rupture from a Colonic EVER! But like with all things I would always recommend you see a therapist who is  qualified to be rendering you a treatment, has proper education and certifications and is skilled in their field.

If looking for a Colon Hydro Therapist in Southern California I would recommend visiting us here at Living Water Wellness or if you are looking for a qualified therapist near you don't hesitate to reach us as we would love to help place you with someone near you!

Thankful & Blessed

Picture
This time of the year always has me taking time to reflect on my many blessings and the countless things I have to be Thankful for! After listing a few I was surprised that my top 4 were all relevant to Living Water Wellness and for that I must share.

  1. I am thankful for a rewarding and fulfilling career that allows me to serve others every day. A career in an industry that guides others towards optimal health and healing and allows me to be a part in changing lives daily. This is an ultimate blessing and I Am Thankful.
  2. I am Thankful for my wonderful family. Cliché I know but true. Without the Legacy of the women in my family I would have never claimed my place in this field. 3 generations of amazing women wanting to help others. Also, as many may know, I got married this year. I extended my family with a daughter Rylee who many even one day continue the Legacy. For them I am Grateful.
  3. I am thankful for my health but most importantly my “access” to that which is health. For my access to knowledge and information that can keep me healthy and strong. Access to treatments that increase my energy, strengthen my immune system and allow to lead a long and happy life. Access to amazing practitioners and professionals that guide me on my continued journey to health. I’m blessed to have access to care for myself well so that I can continue my mission to heal others.
Lastly, I am Thankful for each and every one of you. Without you none of these blessings would be possible or necessary. I’m reminded daily that we are all walking together through this life. We are all in this together and I am blessed to have you! For YOU I Am Grateful
Happy Thanksgiving

you're never alone

Picture
February is often celebrated as one of the most romantic months of the year. Although candy and flowers fill the shelves of local grocery stores while restaurants prepare for candlelit dinners, February isn’t all romance and roses for everyone.

I can remember many Valentine’s Day shared alone with my head buried in work, girlfriends, gossip and a glass of wine, and even the occasional disappointing date with “Mr. Right Now”. In other words, Valentine’s Day isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be for the lonely. February can be a fairly disappointing month for those of us reminded, that while others are celebrating partnership we ourselves feel very “alone”.

Traditional Valentine’s Day does us an injustice by making us believe that we need to look outside ourselves for somebody to make us feel whole or loved. True love is actually radiated from within our hearts and it requires us truly falling in love with ourselves to receive love in return. Don’t get me wrong, having partnership and somebody who we love and loves us in return is a beautiful thing and definitely part of the human experience but it isn’t the only piece. Buddha said,  “You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”  His statement couldn’t be more correct about love.

So regardless of whether in partnership, marriage, friendship, or if you’re feeling completely alone this season it’s important to start the vital practices of Self Love! So what are some ways you can begin simply practicing self love? Here are just a few of my favorite practices:

  • Alone Time
This may feel counter intuitive to those of us desperately seeking companionship. But it is the most vital part to getting to know ourselves. Take time to reflect on the things that you love about yourself. What makes you unique? What makes you different? What makes you special? These are all the reasons why you are lovable and why you deserve to love yourself deeply and be loved in return. Try this with meditation, journaling, or even simple silent reflection. It is the most important step in your journey to self love so practice it everyday.

  • Self Care
Take time to spoil yourself. It is easy to get caught in the rigmarole of day-to-day life. Treat yourself as you would treat somebody special to you. We often find ourselves spoiling others to make them feel loved or important but how we care for ourselves says a lot to others about how to care for us in return. Being in the spa industry, spa and wellness treatments are my favorite way of self-care. They leave me relaxed and re-invigorated. Your self-care could be as simple as getting a massage, going to a yoga class, or getting some energy work! Whatever you choose make yourself a priority first!

  • Cultivating Joy
This one has been a work in progress for me. Sometimes when we are alone it is easy to fill our time with activities that we believe are benefiting our future. Although planning for our future is extremely valuable it is very important to live in the moment. It’s hard to live in the moment when the moment is filled with what we perceive is loneliness. These moments either perpetuate depression or cultivate joy. Fill your moments with action and activity that bring you joy. I’m a creator so Joy for me comes when I’m creating something new. It could be a developing a new cleansing program or business plan. Find what makes you feel inspired! Whatever it may be, find something that excites you and fills your heart with happiness and make it part of your daily routine.

Constantly remind yourself that you are loved! You are adored by the people you influence on a daily basis. You are valued by all the staff here at Living Water Wellness, but most importantly you are loved by God and the Universe! So let’s get to loving ourselves!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Kick Constipation!

Picture
I’ve dedicated a large part of my business to helping people heal their colon. I’ve seen tons of people suffer from less than ideal digestion and elimination. To my amazement it has become a social norm to suffer from constipation and this concept is dangerous to your long term health. Not only can constipation be painful and uncomfortable but it can be the root cause of future illnesses and diseases! A normal colon should have anywhere from 2-3 large bowel movements a day. But when things don’t flow the way they should, it’s nice to have some tips to help them along.

I’ve put together a list of some of my sure-fire ways to help relieve your constipation completely naturally, without having to pop a pill or use a damaging laxitive.

  • Aloe & Supplementation – taking aloe supplements or drinking aloe juice can make a big difference. Aloe latex has properties that stimulates peristalsis and relieves constipation. I also like to take Calm Magnesium nightly to help with constipation!

  • Juices and Smoothies – these already liquefied meals are easy on your digestive system, and the nutrients & hydration inside provide your body with everything it needs to get the job done!

  • Hydration – water is key to pushing food through your digestive track and keeping your colon free of fecal buildup. Be sure you're drinking a minimum of half your body weight in fluid ounces daily, and if you work out or sweat regularly, increase it!

  • Fiber – often times people consider fiber to be mainly grains, but for someone with constipation, increasing grains may backfire. Try increasing your raw fruit and veggie fiber. Its easier to digest and wont perpetuate constipation. You can also try gentle fiber supplements like Flax Seed or Chia Seed to get a subtle boost.

  • Colon Cleansing – colonics are made specifically designed for cleaning out the colon with gentle water pressure. They will quickly and effectively clean out any stagnant material and leave you feeling renewed and relieved. They also improve future bowel function by helping build the colon muscle and increasing your bodies natural parastalsis. If you have suffered from constipation this is the tip you cannot miss! The results are often instant and lasting! Schedule One Today!

Colon Cancer Awareness

Picture

The epidemic in our country of Colorectal disorders leaves us wanting to continuesly share the Awareness and not limit it to any specific month. Throughout the 15+ years I’ve spent as a 3rd Generation colon therapist, the number of colon cancer cases in America continue to astound me. When this fatal disease can so easily be prevented with maintaing a healthy colon and a healthy lifestyle, why do the numbers continue to rise? Being proactive and taking the necessary measures to prevent this disease that plagues over 140,000 people is as simple as stepping into my office. I hope to continue the fight against colon cancer and the fight for long and healthy lives. So to before prevention can begin you need to be informed. Check out some of these insane Colon Cancer Facts.

Colon Cancer Facts:
2nd leading cause of cancer among men & women
Higher risk over age 50 yet rapidly increasing in Millennials
1 in 20 people will be diagnosed with colon cancer
60% of colon cancer deaths can be prevented by screenings and prevention.

Maintaining a healthy gut is vital to preventing colon cancer.
Here are our tips for a healthy gut:

1. Drink plenty of water
Your colon is the last organ to absorb any of the water you consume throughout the day. Therfore if you are not drinking enough water your colon is severly dehydrated. Water flushes out your digestive tract and improves colon function. A hydrated colon is a healthy one! Make sure you are drinking enough water, a good rule of thumb is half your body weight in fluid ounces of water daily.

2. Eat healthy foods – plenty of fruit and vegetables
Your body needs plenty of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to fight off diseases and take care of elimination properly. Fruits and veggies have the best form of hydrating fiber and are amazing for cleaning built up material off the colon wall. Old putrified waste stays in the body the longest and causes the most digestive disorders. So clearing that old material is much quicker when you are eating correctly and proper nutrition is key to preventing disease.

3. Take digestive probiotics
Probiotics increase the amount of good bacteria in your gut. Since about 70% of your entire body’s health is based on the health of your colon, it’s important to keep your microbiome healthy. Taking a Oral Digestive Probiotic like Jarro daily is highly encouraged.

4. Colon cleansing – get regular colonics
Colonics or Colon hydrotherapy are the most effective way to cleanse the colon. Colonics eliminate hardened material and toxins from your colon wall, and can clean out years of buildup. Most people claim 5-15 pounds of old toxic material on average. Regular colonics can keep your colon disease-free and your immune system in tip-top shape. Schedule your own with the #1 center for Colonics in Southern California attach link.

5. Intermittent fasting
Your intestines appreciate breaks from the huge workload of digesting and absorbing food. Taking a break from eating from a few hours before bedtime and until a few hours after you’ve woken up give your body the rest it needs and keep everything running smoothly. Other type of fasting like Juicing & Green Smoothies are helpful as well. Nutrient packed juices stimulate and revitalize all of your organs including the colon.

These are some basic daily habits that will decrease your chances of suffering colon and digestive disorders. But it doesn’t stop here. Share this blog with the people you love and care about so they can be aware too! Awareness is and will always be the fastest route to Prevention!

Weight Loss Tricks that WORK!

Picture
We’ve all been the victim of late-night junk food binges, cheat meals that turn into cheat weeks, and the occasional glass of wine that turns into the whole bottle, I'm not exempt. So when we're trying to lose weight, it’s easy to mess up and  hinder our progress with old poor habits. As a health enthusiast and wellness specialist, I have seen thousands of people come to me with a goal of losing weight, and a strong will to shove those bad habits aside in the quest for a healthy lifestyle. And with the holidays fast approaching and family gatherings on the horizon, now more than ever is the time to ditch those pounds. I’m here to tell you these are some of the most simple tricks I’ve learned along the way that I pass on to you! These 5 tricks have shown amazing results in even the most doubtful clients...check them out:

1. Colonics (aka Colon Hydrotherapy)
What is a Colonic anyway? I’m glad you asked! A Colonic is a simple way to easily and effectively clean out waste and inflammation from the colon and digestive tract. Since the average person, eating the average American diet, going #2 two to three times a day, has anywhere from 5-15 pounds of excess material in their body. Not only can someone lose up to 15+ pounds by cleaning out their colon using colonics but the aftermath leaves most people with a firmer, flatter, more toned tummy as well. It has been known to be extremely beneficial in improving energy as well for continued weight loss success. Check out some testimonials to see what others have said about their colonic experience or schedule your own at www.livingwaterwellness.com

2. Hydrating (and Saunas!)
You’ve probably heard about the health benefits of staying hydrated, but that’s only part one of this trick! Part two is, you guessed it, saunas! Drinking all that water is wonderful for flushing out toxins and getting that vital H2O to all your cells, but jumping in the sauna then takes that unused or old water and toxins and pulls them to the surface of your skin and out of your body. The heat from, say, an infrared sauna, penetrates much deeper within your body then an average sauna. That deep penetrating heat allows you to remove more than just sweat & water weight creating more lasting and instant weight loss results. To Schedule a Sauna for $10 off click on this link and use promo code: SAUNA10

3. Finding Physical activity you love!
Of course, exercise is important for weight loss and overall health. But if you’re physical activity is a chore you have to force yourself out of bed for, you’re doing it wrong. Keep trying different activities until you find something you enjoy. And whatever the activity may be, be it biking, walking, kayaking, swimming, or dancing around the house to some good tunes, make sure you enjoy it. That’s one of the best pieces of advice I give to anyone struggling with weight loss - enjoy yourself! Also track these basic activities on an app like “My Fitness Pal” to help keep yourself accountable as well as see what you burn doing random physical activities like housework or even sex.

4. Healthy Eating
I know, I know, you probably clicked on this blog to find a way around having to drink smoothies and eat vegetables for dinner, but unfortunately, healthy food is important. Despite your possible doubts, eating healthy can become really enjoyable! It just takes a tiny bit of effort. Look up some healthy versions of the meals you love - Protein Style Burgers, Romaine Tacos, Creative Salads, etc. - and try them out! Thanks to Pinterest there are TONS of delicious recipes out there that’ll help you lose weight and won’t taste like a bowl of lettuce. PLUS, you will feel more energetic and lighter after healthy meals. If you’re local to San Diego here is one of our favorite Health Food Restauraunts to try as well! Cafe Gratitute.

5. Surround Yourself with Positivity
Having people on the same weight-loss journey to connect with and gain support from is a HUGE help for achieving your weight loss goal. But even if you’re on this journey alone, it’s important to surround yourself with people who are all-around positive. These types of people will be encouraging and excited for your progress. Remember negativity can easily seep into our subconscious and make us fall off the wagon. Positivity is KEY! Try following motivational people on Facebook and Instagram so your threads stay flooded with tips, tricks, & positive influences. Keep your circle small if you have to but make sure the people and influences in your life are positive, supportive and in alignment with your goals.

Here are some social media links to keep you motivated!

Better More Beautiful Skin

Picture
Think you’ve tried everything to improve the quality of your skin? Think again! These products and practices have yielded amazing results, and better yet, they are inexpensive and super simple! You will wish you started this sooner.

  1. Paraban-free Organic Skincare
Our skin responds to natural substances that it can recognize and use to heal. If we overload our skin with chemicals in non-organic and paraben-laden lotions, soaps, and treatments, our skin quality can decline dramatically. Try using a trusted brand like Beauty Counter who pride themselves in making all of their products in the absolute best and most pure quality!  www.beautycounter.com/melissaschollaert

  1. Infrared Sauna
It’s widely known that saunas make you sweat. But infrared saunas work a little bit differently. Infrared rays penetrate through your skin, warming tissues from the inside. This provides a much deeper sweat and toxin elimination, leaving your skin even more cleansed than a regular sauna. It has had amazing results for skin disorders like Acne, Ezcema, Psoriasis, Rashing & Aging. I personally have had it reduce my fine lines and wrinkles to even my amazement. Try it for $10 off using Promo Code: SAUNA10

  1. Hydration
Staying hydrated is not unknown in skin care, but we’re reminding you on this list because its vital to beautiful skin! Water keeps your skin dewy, younger-looking, and clear, so drink up! But dont stop there, increase the quality of water you’re drinking and using as well. Make sure you have a great filtration system or water purification process in use for what you drink and shower in. Chemicals and junk in our water suplly make absorbstion sadly minimal.

  1. Skin Brushing
Many people have never heard of skin brushing (or dry brushing), which is the practice of brushing your dry skin with a specialized brush to exfoliate and remove the top layer of dead skin cells. You can brush your entire body and face, and it has amazing results in the quality, appearence & brightness of your skin. Skin Brushes are cheap and you can get a basic one on amazon for under $15 plus it helps with cellulite too!

  1. Face Mask
A lesser-known secret to improve the skin is a natural face mask. Homemade masks made of natural ingredients are the best and most inexpensive way to give your skin a amazing glow. Try this simple recipe:
Mix 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder with 1 Tablespoon Honey. Form a paste and apply to face. Leave it on for 10  minutes and rinse.
