5/1/2017 1 Comment Stress-free: Easy as 1, 2, 3!We all face pressures in our daily lives. I know as a business owner and a woman I’m constantly plagued with an absurd amount of stressors. Stress can be extremely damaging to our state of mind, body, and hormones. So the question is how can we de-stress at the end of the day or week? Although it is sometimes easier said than done these are some of the best stress relievers I’ve found so far, but the stress relief options don’t stop here! 1. Yoga Taking an hour and a half in a quiet space, focusing on my breathing, and working on my strength training has been incredibly helpful at the end of a stressful day. I always leave feeling relaxed and healthy. Not to mention it doubles as a workout. Downing two birds with one stone immediately minimizes stress. San diego offers plenty of locations for group yoga but our sunny seasons also allow for your own outdoor yoga on the beach! 2. Massage Therapy Massage is one of my personal favorite, albeit sometimes more expensive, ways to get some much-needed relaxation time. A great massage in a dimmed room, candles lit with relaxing music playing is the perfect thing to treat yourself to on a weekend…. holiday…. Heck anytime possible! Now with so many massage based Spa Memberships like Living Water Wellness’s you can get monthly massages as well as other spa and wellness treatments reasonably and inexpensively too. http://www.livingwaterwellness.com/services.html 3. Epsom Salt Baths & Infrared Saunas Epsom salts can help soothe sore muscles, relieve pain and bruising, and help you relax. Lighting some candles and soaking in an Epsom salt bath is a totally FREE and favorite de-stressor of mine! Infrared saunas are another great resource. The deep detoxification that comes with the intense sweat session from an Infrared sauna is an amazing way to relax and can relieve pain and sore muscles just like baths but better because it also burns 600 calories in 30 minutes. I use this Infrared Sauna weekly! 4. Magnesium Supplements It’s important to have the right amounts of magnesium and calcium in the body. Balancing the minerals in your body makes you feel more relaxed and promotes good health in general. Not to mention most people are fairly deficient in it anyways, so taking a supplement daily before bed will help you sleep better, feel well rested, improve digestion and overall feel much more relaxed on a daily basis. I prefer CALM Magnesium by Natural Vitality. https://naturalvitality.com/natural-calm/ 5. Journal Journaling is more of an emotional stress-reliever rather than physical, but it is still a great practice at the end of the week. Often we hold all our ideas, intentions and worries bottled up inside and it manifests itself as stress. Emotional Stress leaves us weakened by worries both mentally and physically. Writing everything down daily takes a huge weight off my shoulders and I recommend it to everyone for reducing stress. Try some of these stress relieving techniques on your own and share with us some of your favorite tricks for de stressing! God knows we can all use it!
